Jakub Kouřil (*1987) is a film and animation director, aiming at stories with strong visual potential.
He is a graduate of the Department of Animation at FAMU Prague (Film and TV School of Academy of Performing Arts).
During his studies, he made the short film M.O. Film about an old woman who orders a mail-order mechanical man earned numerous international awards and was a finalist for the student Oscar. His animated short The Little Cousteau became a festival hit.
Currently, he is developing the original animated children’s TV series The Little Odyssey and the feature-length live-action film The African Room.
